I’m a man of strong opinions, particularly with regard to pop culture, and PARTICULARLY with regard to my favorite medium of pop culture: Television. As a single man, with dominion over my abode and television, I got to express those opinions through my viewing schedule as I see fit.
Then I met Samantha.
Samantha, or Sammy, as I call her, is my fiancee’, to whom I’ll be married in February of 2011. She’s smarter than me (not hard), totally out of my league (even less difficult), and has as great a passion for pop culture as I do, which is pretty damn remarkable. Now that we’re moving in together, my opinions have met their match in someone who refuses to let me get away with my knee jerk opinions and viewing decisions, because now it’s our television.
Case in point, I’m watching the COMPLETE pilot of “Mike & Molly” to prove that it is every bit as dumb as I’ve been saying it is based on clips. THAT, my friends, is love.
That’s what I’m looking forward to most about this little adventure: If there’s one thing Sammy and I do better than find entertaining television, it’s disagree on what shows are the good, the bad, the important, and the special. Married With Channels is going to let us hash it out in writing, and hopefully give you, the reader, some insight into what’s worth watching.
Here we go.
